Sometimes the simplest ideas are the best. That is definitely the case with these Coasters & Hotpads! No exposed seams, no binding – it’s a new sewing enthusiasts dream! They’re Layer Cake and Charm Pack Friendly which takes the stress out of color coordinating – How cool is that?
If you are giving them as a gift, here’s a sweet idea ~ Tuck a little coffee shop gift card right into the coaster and VOILA – you’ve just added a even more generosity to your coaster.
I hope you enjoy this sweet, simple, speedy tutorial! And as always, make sure to sign up for our Newsletter so you can get discount codes for our fabrics & promotions! You’ll thank me later!

Hi Margret, feel free to subscribe to our newsletter. We send that out rather than an RSS feed – it usually has more content and sometimes deals on FABRIC!
What a wonderful idea…cant wait to get started.
A fantastic way for coasters, so tired of binding them…lol….Noelene from Australia
What kind of batting was used when making the coasters and hotpads? How many layers were used in the hotpads?
Please sign me up for the newsletters.
Thank you.
Hi Nita,
I used multiple layers of warm and natural leftovers that I had lying around the house. If you’re worried about heat coming through you can always put a layer of Insulbright in between two layers of batting to absorb heat. I have added you to our email list, make sure to confirm it through your personal email. And don’t forget to sign up for our weekly giveaways!
I absolutely love your tutorials. How can we order from your website?

Where can I buy the fabric used in the coaster tutorial. This is exactly the colour combination I need
